Erik Carter

Dr. Erik Carter is Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Special Education at Vanderbilt University and co-Director of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center UCEDD. His research addresses strategies for supporting inclusion, belonging, and relationships in school, work, community, and congregational settings for youth with disabilities. He has published widely in the areas of educational and transition services for individuals with disabilities, including more than 250 articles/chapters and 6 books. He has received research awards from the Council for Exceptional Children, the American Association for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities.
